The Bachelor of Health Care Administration (BHA) Program is designed for undergraduate students preparing for careers as managers in the public and private health care sector. Courses provide a comprehensive understanding of the health care delivery system in the United States, examine the special characteristics and requirements of organizations providing health care services, and address the skills and knowledge required in order to function as a professional manager in the field.
Student Learning Outcomes
Students who complete the Bachelor of Healthcare Administration (B.H.A.) will be able
to:
- Identify and describe the structure and components of the U.S. healthcare system.
- Identify the key economic, regulatory, legal, and ethical issues currently affecting the U.S. healthcare system.
- Master key clinical and managerial terminology and demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively about healthcare administrative issues in discussions with healthcare administration professionals, faculty, and other students.
- Demonstrate ability to apply management principles to theoretical scenarios in healthcare administration.
- 5Demonstrate the ability to recognize and analyze issues and problems associated with changes in the healthcare administration field and to subsequently propose or enact constructive responses.
