Graduate work completed at a regionally accredited institution must be evaluated by the Office of the Registrar in consultation with the Program Director and the School Dean. Transfer credit is evaluated on a course-by-course basis and is never automatic. The hours allowed for transfer depend on individual program policy.
The following conditions apply to all transfer credit requests across all three programs:
- Transfer coursework must have been completed at an accredited institution
- Courses must align with the Reinhardt curriculum by a minimum of 70% content overlap, as determined by the Registrar
- Coursework must have been completed within 7 years of the student's projected program start date
- Doctoral capstone, dissertation, and applied research project courses are strictly non-transferable in all three programs
- Transferred grades are not used in the calculation of semester and overall grade point averages earned at Reinhardt University
- See individual program entries for program-specific transfer credit limits and non-transferable coursework designations.
Prior Learning Assessment
Reinhardt University does not award credit for prior learning assessment (PLA) toward doctoral or advanced graduate degree requirements. All credit hours applied toward the EdS, EdD, or DBA must be earned through enrollment in approved coursework.
