Types of Financial Aid

To assist with educational expenses, doctoral and advanced graduate students may pursue financial aid in the forms of federal loans, external scholarships, and doctoral assistantships. Some companies also offer tuition reimbursement programs.

Federal Student Loans

Eligible students may apply for low-interest student loans through the William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan Program. This includes:

Direct Unsubsidized Loans:

Loans that do not require financial need. The student may choose to pay the interest while in school or allow it to accrue.

Graduate PLUS Loans:

Specifically for graduate and doctoral students to help cover expenses not met by other financial aid.

The maximum amount a graduate/doctoral student can receive through the Direct Loan Program each academic year is $20,500. There is a total aggregate limit of $138,500, which includes federal student loans taken out as an undergraduate.

Doctoral Assistantships

Reinhardt University offers a limited number of doctoral assistantships to qualified students in the EdS, EdD, and DBA programs. Assistantships provide students with meaningful professional experience in teaching, research, or administrative support while contributing to the academic community.

Eligibility: Students must be enrolled in good academic standing with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher and be making satisfactory academic progress.

Compensation: Governed by the terms of the individual appointment and Reinhardt University Faculty Handbook policies.
