This course is the first in a two-part sequential series, which covers bonding, naming, functional groups and the physical and chemical properties of common carbon compounds. Organic reactions are emphasized in terms of modern theory. The course includes both lecture and laboratory instruction. Prerequisites: CHE 180 and 182.
